The Marching Contest

  • This marching show starts from the South end of the field with the drum line coming out from the end zone followed by the rest of the band coming from the side lines. The band is led by two drum majors and six majorettes for a total 136 bandsmen on the field.
  •  The band starts with the fanfare from the "Strategic Air Command". The band goes right into a counter march on the 40 yard line and from the South goal line back to the 40 yard line. Playing "Garland Entree" March.
  • Next the band does a backward step drill where in three counts the whole band converts to diagonal lines. They are playing "Strategic Air Command". This followed by a step two drills.
  • The band then breaks into four man "Moffit" Pinwheels and does folding pinwheels / hotdog drills while playing "Them Basses".
  • Next while playing "Cyrus the Great" the band goes into folding "Moffit" pinwheel drills ending up in a block formation heading 6 to 5 down to the North goal line. Counter marching back in one its famous 6 to 5 passes down the field followed by a pinwheel move into concert formation facing the crowd.
  • The band finishes the show with "Eagle Squadron" March finishing up with the opening fanfare.
